Florida is also known as the sunshine state which is located on a large peninsula at the southern extreme of the eastern coast in the United States. Florida is just over 1000 miles south of New York City. Florida is a flat and sandy land which is about 100 miles wide by approximately 400 miles long. Florida alone has approximately 400 miles of eastern shoreline with sandy beaches and Atlantic Ocean.

Florida has been blessed with a very semi-tropical climate with hot rainy summers and mild winters and near ideal spring and fall temperatures. But Florida is also known to have tropical storms and hurricanes.

Florida has been divided into several regions all with different features. The regions include: Eastern Coast of Florida, Western Coast, Central Florida, Southern tip with the Keys and the Panhandle. Each region offers different attractions for all type of tourists.

The Eastern Coast of Florida has some lovely beaches with moderately good surf on the Atlantic Ocean. Many of the beaches that are located near Miami, Daytona and Jacksonville tend to be commercialized for tourism.

Most of the beaches offer plenty of high rise restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions and entertainment venues.
