The city of New York is situated in the eastern coast of the United States of America approximately 10000 miles north of Florida and around 200 miles south if Boston. New York City is located on the end of the river Hudson and then is divided into five districts also known as boroughs.

The long Island stretches nearly 100 miles east of New York City with the state of New Jersey that lies just across the west of river Hudson. New York City is often known to many people as the big apple as it is the largest city within the USA with over 7 million residents. The whole city is filled with a mixture of inhabitants from many different countries all over the world.

The Manhattan borough is the business and commercial centre of new York City and is located on a large island in the centre of the river Hudson. Just south of Manhattan borough is the borough if Staten Island then large and main residential community. Over the east of the river Hudson are the boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn which are located on the western tip of Long Island. New Jersey lies across the Hudson River to the west of the mainland and the borough or Bronx is to the north on the mainland.
